Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called an emergency meeting of the cabinet on Saturday evening.
The meeting was convened at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar at 5 pm, a minister said. According to the minister, no advance notice has been given about the agenda of the meeting.
Although regular meetings of the Council of Ministers are held on Monday and Thursday, there is interest in the emergency meeting convened on Saturday evening.
An employee of the Prime Minister’s Office and the Office of the Council of Ministers said, “Today’s cabinet meeting is an emergency. Probably due to the current overall situation, the meeting had to be held immediately.”
Prime Minister Oli’s activism has increased as the day of the vote of confidence approaches. Prime Minister Oli has also called a meeting of the Constitutional Council on Sunday.
