Phungling: A pregnant woman has been rescued who was in danger of bleeding after giving birth to a baby in Taplejung
Shanta Bhattarai Limbu, age 35, of Sirijangha Gaonpalika-5, Pedang, Taplejung was rescued by a helicopter under the Presidential Women’s Upliftment Project and taken to Biratnagar on Saturday. Sirijangha-5 Ward Chairman Purna Singh Limbu said that she was rescued from a helicopter after she was bleeding profusely.
Ward Chairman Limbu said that he had ordered a helicopter for air rescue under the Presidential Women’s Upliftment Project after only the baby’s hand came out during the delivery.
He said that the baby was born when the helicopter arrived but the bleeding did not stop, so she was sent to a well-equipped hospital. She is undergoing treatment at Koshi Zonal Hospital in Biratnagar, said Ward Chairman Limbu.
