Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has re-appointed CPN-UML leader Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal as the Home Minister.
Badal is scheduled to be sworn in at Rashtrapati Bhawan at 5 pm today. Press Advisor to Prime Minister Surya Thapa informed that the time for taking oath has been fixed today.
Badal, who was elected a member of the National Assembly from the CPN-Maoist Center in 2074 BS, had given a written letter to the CPN-UML to vacate his post.
The Parliament Secretariat has informed that Badal’s post has become vacant this morning. Earlier, the UCPN (M) had vacated four members of the House of Representatives after joining the UML.
Similarly, the posts of UML state assembly members have also been vacated.
