Flood in Mahakali river started cutting the edges of Viral Road

Mahendranagar: The incessant rains since Sunday evening have started cutting down the 6-lane road known as Viral Road of the Mahakali Bridge Project.

Engineer of the project Kishor Pandey said that road cutting has started about 200 meters north of the bridge project.

“The flow of water in Mahakali river is the highest as compared to the record so far and it is constantly increasing,” he said.

According to Engineer Pandey, the water of the Bhujela River has flowed towards the settlement. The Asphalt plant area and the project camp set up near the ward office of Bheemdatt 12 on the river bank have also been flooded.

Water has also flooded the houses of locals in ​​Ward No. 9 Khalla, Ward No. 12 Airy and Ward No. 13 Sonapur in Bheemdatt Municipality.

According to district administration office Kanchanpur Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have been deployed to rescue the locals.

Due to unseasonal rains, the Mahakali River has been flooded. The Mahakali River has a flow of more than 400,000 cusecs.
