Nepalgunj. Rama Bharti, a senior ANM (sixth level) of Titihiriya Health Post in Baijnath village in Banke, has died due to coronavirus infection.
She died at Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj at 8 am on Friday.
She is also the wife of Gokarna Giri, head of the Bharti District Public Health Office, Bardiya. Giri has not seen any infection. According to Naresh Shrestha, Covid-19 focal person of Bardiya, Bharti had no other health problems.
“She was admitted to the hospital four days ago. She died today while undergoing treatment,” Shrestha said to Sanchar Chok.
Bharati has one child. The Nepal Army is managing the body of Bharti at Jagdighat at 1 pm.
Meanwhile, in the wake of Bharti’s death, the Baijnath Municipality on Friday shut down the services of the ward office and health institution for a day. Official Doti Nepali said in a statement that the service has been suspended for one day.
Village Municipality Chairman Man Bahadur Ruchal Thakuri has also issued a statement paying tribute to the deceased.
