India has agreed to connect the four-lane Mahakali Bridge and road under construction in Kanchanpur with its national highway.
Giving information about the agreement reached between the two countries during his visit, Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradip Gyawali said that they have agreed to connect the Mahakali Bridge and the road with the national highway.
“India has agreed to link the Mahakali Bridge and the road under construction to the road network of its national highways,” Gyawali said, adding that “this will strengthen the road network in the far western region of Nepal and in the Uttarakhand region of India.”
A four-lane concrete bridge has been under construction on the Mahakali River in Kanchanpur since 2074 BS.
The bridge, which is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 270 million, has 65 percent physical progress. The construction work is still going on.
