When the counting of the by-elections held in Chitwan-2 was completed, Ravi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, is elected by getting more votes than he got in the past elections held in mangsir 4.
He was elected by with 49,300 votes. A by-election was held there after his MP position was revoked due to a citizenship dispute.
Lamichhane became a candidate again in the by-election held five months later.
The Election Commission has announced that he won with 54,176 votes. He got almost 43,000 more votes than his nearest competitor Nepali Congress candidate Jit Narayan Shrestha.
A total of 78,277 people voted there.
In the previous elections, Congress and UML candidates crossed 14,000 votes. At that time, Lamichhane won with a margin of 35,000 votes.
