Kailali: The Mayor of the Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan Nrip Bahadur Odd has said that they will work hard to solve the problem of flooding in Dhangadhi. Mayor Odd said that the federal government was mobilizing its support to solve the problem of flooding in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan Ward No. 2 and 3.
He said we will work hard to solve the problem of flooding in the sub-metropolis with the help of the locals.
Mayor Odd said that in the long run, a drain on the right and left side of the 6-lane road could be constructed to solve the flooding of wards 2 and 3 and other options would be studied after discussing with the locals.
However, the ward chairpersons have been urged to coordinate with the ward residents to take necessary action for the drainage of water from the settlements and tolls, said the mayor. The mayor claimed that he was in the federal capital to get technical and financial assistance from the federal government and that he and the entire metropolis were working to resolve the flooding in the city.
In Dhangadhi, not only wards 2 and 3 but also wards 1, 4, 5, 7, and 8 have the same problem of flooding. It has been claimed that the reason for the increase in flooding in the urban area is that the city development authority has sold the land indiscriminately and the sub-metropolitan government has passed the house plan on the same land.
Mayor Odd said that the problem of flooding has increased in Dhangadhi due to the encroachment of rivers. He’s been saying that dozers will be used to remove the encroachment from Asoj and the red cards (lalpurja) distributed on the land of rivers will be rejected
